“But the other men who had explored the land with him (Caleb) disagreed. We can’t go against them! They are stronger than we are! So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought too!”
Number 13:31-33
“David replied to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies - the God of the armies of Israel, who you have defied. Today, the Lord will conquer...and the whole world will know there is a God in Israel!’”
1 Samuel 17:45-46
“Yet I will preserve 7,000 others in Israel who have never bowed down to
Baal or kissed him!”
1 Kings 19:18
“When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. ‘Oh sir, what will we do now?’ the young man cried to Elisha. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ Elisha told him. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs!’ Then Elisha prayed, ‘Oh Lord open his eyes and let him see!’ The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”
2 Kings 6:14
In the land of education there are many un-circumsized giants. These giants of systems have occupied the land for many years. In many cases, they appear to have more money, resources, knowledge, or influence. Around you are voices (inner or outward) that will compare you to these giants and make you feel like grasshoppers. Sometimes, you may feel alone in this battle to conquer or transform this land for the Kingdom.
Today, I declare you are not alone. God has preserved other Kingdom educators who have not bowed down to the systems of Baal. The Lord of Hosts will conquer the giants and you shall have the land!
Prayer:
Almighty God, all power and glory belongs to you. You are bigger, greeted and more powerful than all the giants in this educational system. I declare giants may come with their weapons of money, knowledge, and influence, but I come in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s armies. I am not alone! There are more with me than with them. Father, open my spiritual eyes that I may see the horses and chariots of fire around me. Today, in my classroom, my school, in this world of education, all will know that you are God and you dwell in me. Thank you, Father, for transforming the educational system. In Jesus’ name, amen.
As passionate educators, everyday you are on a divine assignment. God has strategically positioned you to change the lives of students by creating classrooms and schools that operate in alignment with kingdom principles. You must resign to the truth that you have been crucified with Christ, and it is He who lives in you. Your thoughts and plans for your life belong to Christ. Therefore, just as Jesus did during his earthly ministry, be intentional about doing your Father’s business.
